The Fayette High School junior/senior prom is going on as planned. A group of parents have spearheaded an effort to ensure the teenage rite of passage remains in tact.
The event, which is not associated with the Fayette School District, will be held Saturday, June 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall.
The following schedule has been approved:
• 7 p.m. - Grand March at the south side of the Fayette courthouse. Amy Valencia will be the emcee and Becky Callahan of Tiddlywinks Photography will photograph each of the attendees.
• 8 to 11 p.m. - Dance. Junior and seniors will be given the opportunity to vote for Prom King and Queen to be crowned at 10 p.m.
