Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.) recently hosted her seventh annual Youth Leadership Summit at State Fair Community College in Sedalia. More than 150 students from 33 participating high schools in Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District attended the event, including local students from Fayette High School.
At this event, these high school students have the unique opportunity to learn more about leadership and meet their member of Congress. Brian Smith, Mizzou head wrestling coach, and Dr. Miki Collier, pastor and entrepreneur, gave inspirational messages on leadership to students along with Congresswoman Hartzler. Students also participated in a question and answer forum with Hartzler.
The fifth-term lawmaker from Harrisonville previously taught family and consumer sciences in Lebanon and Belton and frequently enjoys engaging with local students by hosting this annual event.
