Nineteen area basketball players were named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association’s All-District lists, with Harrisburg sweeping Class 2 District 7 Coach of the Year honors.

Kyle Fisher led the Harrisburg boys to their second straight district title before making it all the way to the state quarterfinals for the second year in a row. Girls’ coach Jaryt Hunziker took his team to the state sectionals after leading the Lady Bulldogs to their first district title since 2021. The boys finished 24-6 overall, with the girls 22-7 overall.

Harrisburg senior Trace Combs and Higbee junior Danny Janssen were both named Player of the Year for their respective districts.

Janssen averaged 19.9 points and 7.7 rebounds a game this season, sinking a team-best 87 shots from the 3-point arc.

Combs surpassed 1,500 career points in his senior season. He scored 21.2 points and pulled down eight rebounds a game to go along with 3.4 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.2 assists a game.

Janssen, an All-CLAA junior, led three Higbee Tigers on the MBCA Class 1 District 10 list. Junior Celton Crawford (11.1 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.3 spg, 1.6 apg,) and sophomore Cale Nelson (8.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.9 spg, 4.8 spg) also made the team.

Two Higbee girls made the Class 1 District 9 list. Junior Lauren Spilman led the team with 15.4 points a game and a team-high 93 made 3-pointers this season. Senior Ronnie Welch posted 11.9 points a game and a team-best 4.6 steals in her third straight year on the list.

Joining Combs on the Class 2 District 7 list from Harrisburg are senior Bryce Ott (10.6 ppg) and junior Caleb Sager (8.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 5.1 apg).

Glasgow picked up two Class 2 District 7 selections. Sophomore Kyler Kottman averaged a double-double this season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Jackson Meyer led the team in scoring with 21 points and seven rebounds a game and was voted among the top three players in the CAC this season.

Five girls made the Class 2 District 7 team. Fayette seniors Oakleigh Hill and KeBrea Fair both averaged double-digit scoring this season. Hill scored 14.7 points a game and Fair nearly averaged a double-double with 12.9 points and 9.6 rebounds. She also surpassed 500 career rebounds.

Junior Glasgow Halle Fuemmeler was the lone Lady Jacket on the list. She led the team in scoring with 21.1 points a game, having scored more than 1,500 points in just three seasons.
