Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) Director Gold credential. To receive the Gold credential, a director is required to complete both the Certified Cooperative Director (CCD) curriculum, which is a requirement of completing five courses, and the Board Leadership Course (BLC) program, which is a requirement of completing 10 credits of certified courses. It is then required to earn three additional credits from the BLC series of courses.

Today’s electric utility environment imposes new demands on electric cooperative directors, particularly increased knowledge of changes in the electric utility business, new governance skills, and a working knowledge of the cooperative principles.
