Glasgow resident, Gene Daniels, 73, passed away at his home on June 29, 2022.
Gene Shelton Daniels was born in Howard County, Missouri on December 18, 1948. He was one of eight children born to Patrick Raymond and Mary Lou (Hubbard) Daniels. Gene graduated from Fayette High School with the class of 1967. Upon graduation, Gene started a long career working for Kellwood (American Rec.) textile manufacturing in Glasgow. He worked for Kellwood for 30 years until an accident rendered him unable. Gene’s favorite hobby was fishing.
Survivors include his four siblings, Jane Bardwell of Topeka, Kansas, Marilyn (Willard) Jeffress of Fayette, Edwin “Doug” (Laurie) Daniels of Fayette, and Dennis (Cathy) Daniels of Fayette. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, George, and Gary.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 6 until 7 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Walnut Ridge Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
