Glasgow coach Mick Cropp announced for MBCA Hall of Fame

Posted

Glasgow High School basketball coach Mick Cropp will be inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) Class of 2025 Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on May 3.

A Glasgow native, Cropp has built an outstanding 22-year career at his alma mater. He enters this season with a combined record of 446 wins against 167 losses and has led his team to a dozen 20-win seasons with seven conference championships and nine district titles. His teams have also won 22 regular-season tournaments.

“I’m proud to coach and be successful in my hometown. Proud to help carry on the tradition,” Cropp said on Friday. “We’ve had a lot of good kids that come from good families with a lot of support. My family has sacrificed immensely, like all other coaches’ families. However, today, I’m just trying to help our team be successful tonight.”

Under his leadership, the Yellowjackets made six trips to the state semifinals, including back-to-back appearances in 2008 and 2009, finishing second and third overall, respectively. The team placed fourth in the state in 2009, 2012, 2017, and 2023.

Glasgow opened the season Friday night with a win at Meadville, 62-45. On Monday, the Jackets hosted Brunswick for their home opener after the Advertiser went to press.

Next week, Glasgow will host the 94th edition of its historic basketball tournament. The fourth-seeded Yellowjackets face Slater, the fifth seed, at 9 p.m. on Monday, December 2. A complete bracket appears on Page 16.
