A Glasgow man is dead following a crash in rural Howard County on Friday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Gary L. Fuemmeler, 64, was westbound on State Route V, one mile east of County Road 271, at 3:20 p.m., when the 2013 Toyota Prius he was driving traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
He was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia where he was pronounced dead.
The crash marks the third fatality for Troop F for the month of October and the 48th for the year.
An obituary for Mr. Fuemmeler appears on page 3 of this newspaper.
