For the second time in as many days, the duo of senior Kelli Gorman and junior Keighlan Cronin earned national recognition as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the 2021 Softball All-America teams Tuesday morning.

The All-America teams, selected by the NAIA All-America committee, are comprised of 60 players across First, Second, and Honorable Mention teams.

Gorman and Cronin, who were recognized as All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association on Monday, were named First and Second Team All-Americans, as Gorman was tabbed as a First Team selection, while Cronin earned Second Team recognition.

Gorman appeared and started in 56 games in left field for CMU, leading the team with a .411 batting average, and 22 home runs. The Foristell, Missouri. native tied the single-season program record for hits (78) and drove in a team-leading 82 runs along with 14 doubles. Gorman led the nation in home runs, total bases (166), and RBI (82). This season, Gorman was tabbed as the Heart Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference performer for her efforts. She is only the fourth NAIA First Team All-American in the history of the program, joining Hannah Steeby (2018), Michele Rupard (2014), and Aubrey Utley (2014).

Cronin was tabbed as a Second Team All-American after a stellar 2021 campaign. She was a force on the mound as the Heart Pitcher of the Year finished the season with a 27-3 overall record, a 1.31 earned run average, and 250 strikeouts. She set program records in single-season wins (27), strikeouts (250), and shutouts (14) as Central's ace. Cronin was also ranked No. 5 nationally in wins, opposing batting average (0.162), and hits allowed/nine innings (4.01). She was named the Heart Pitcher of the Week on four occasions and is the just seventh Second Team All-America selection in the history of CMU Softball.
