Central Methodist University’s spring and summer 2020 graduates will finally be able to walk across the stage to receive their degrees at an outdoor commencement event on Sunday, September 13.
The regular May graduation ceremony was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic after CMU classes were moved online at the end of last semester. But with a plan for social distancing and other safety measures in place, Central will be able to honor graduates and award recipients at a 4 p.m. event at Davis Field.
“CMU recognizes the hard work and accomplishments of its spring and summer graduates and wishes them the best as they go forward in their future career or academic paths,” said provost Rita Gulstad.
Around 150 graduates from both the Fayette campus and CMU’s extended locations have already registered to take part in the event.
The outdoor ceremony will allow up to four guests for each graduate in attendance and will be livestreamed on the Central Methodist University page on Facebook.
