The City of Fayette MO and the Fayette Tree Board are grateful to the Missouri Department of Conservation for the new 2024 Cost Share Grant to help care for our urban forest.
Five selected dying or dead trees will be removed and replaced with ten new trees planted in the Fayette City Park as a first step in utilizing Fayette's Tree Planting and Management Plan For Fayette City Park (Jan. 2024) by Landscape Architect Tim Frevert that was provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation.
The community educational outreach for this grant cycle will focus on planting the right tree in the right place. Information will be distributed door to door, in the newspaper, on social media and radio. Local KPIP radio station 94.7 FM has created an excellent public service announcement with the talent of Tree Board Chairwoman Denise Haskamp and member Brian McMillan.
The Spring Arbor Day tree giveaway will include native flowering shrubs for homeowners with tight spaces and overhead lines. For more information email bekkilou@gmail.com.
