Harrisburg basketball teams fall to Hallsville

Harrisburg had five players with at least five points, but couldn’t keep up with Hallsville down the stretch in a 60-40 loss on Tuesday, January 31.

The Indians built a 41-30 lead over three quarters and pulled away in the fourth. Carli Ellis led Harrisburg with 10 points and Baylie Combs went 3-4 from the free-throw line to finish with nine. Zoe Carr was 3-5 from the line to finish with seven and Kailey Franklin had a pair of 3-pointers to score six. Brecca Thornhill scored all five of her points in the second half.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to 6-13 after a 71-58 loss to Milan on Friday.

The Harrisburg boys lost a rematch with Hallsville 66-45. Harrisburg has dropped six out of seven games in the new year and has a record of 7-11 heading into the Southern Boone Tournament.
