Heading into the second half of the final game of the Centralia tournament, the Harrisburg Bulldogs were looking to wrap up a tournament win with a 26-20 lead. But the Bulldogs could not hold onto that lead as the Salisbury Panthers were able to come out on top by a score of 51-46.
The game truly was a tale of two halves as Harrisburg outscored Salisbury 26-20 before halftime and was outscored by Salisbury 31-20 in the second half.
Harrisburg senior Tanner Lanes poured in 17 points for the Bulldogs as classmate Jace Carr added 13. Junior Anthony Alicea hit for seven while junior Braden Ott scored six. Senior Brayton Stephenson contributed three.
The loss takes the Bulldogs’ record to 4-1 on the season. The Bulldog took on the Fayette Falcons in Fayette on Tuesday after The Advertiser went to press then will travel to Scotland County on Friday for a 7:30 tipoff before dong battle at the Gary Filbert Classic in Mexico on Saturday. Following that, the Bulldogs will break until December 28 when they play host to Southern Boone at 8 p.m. then break again until January 6 with a game against Marceline.
