The fourth-seeded Harrisburg girls outscored fifth-seeded Glasgow 11-1 in overtime to defeat the host team 67-57 and advance to the championship side of the bracket in the Glasgow Tournament.

The nip-n-tuck first half saw Harrisburg gain a six-point advantage in the second quarter, only to see Glasgow crawl back within two at the half, 26-24. Junior guard Halle Fuemmeler kept the Lady Jackets in the game, scoring 19 of the team’s first-half points.

“Fuemmeler did a great job for them in the first half. We knew we needed to pay more attention to her in the second half,” said Harrisburg coach Jaryt Hunziker.

The Lady Bulldogs jumped to an eight-point advantage with 4:20 left in the third quarter. Glasgow stormed back, using a 21-5 run to take a 56-49 lead with 4:05 left in the game.

After a timeout to reset their strategy, Harrisburg closed on a 7-0 run to force overtime. The Bulldogs outscored Glasgow 11-1 in the extra period to earn the victory. They will advance to play the number one seed and three-time reigning tournament champion Cairo at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner will play for the tournament title. The loser will play in the third-place game. “Between this game and our win last week against Mexico, we’ve had a lot of learning moments for our team, which will help us later on,” Coach Hunziker said.

Lorelai Hunziker, a junior wing, led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 21 points. Senior guard Macie Ellis had 16.

Fuemmeler led all scorers with 26 points for Glasgow. Junior post player Karsyn Massie added 12.

Glasgow will play Slater in the consolation bracket at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lady Wildcats fell to Cairo 80-30 in the tournament's opening game. The winner will play for the consolation hardware on Saturday.
