Higbee boys continue their scoring assault

Posted

With its lowest point total of the year being 60, the Higbee boys basketball team seems to be scoring at will. That certainly seemed the case last Tuesday as the Tigers outscored the Marion County Mustangs 82-38 for the Tigers’ seventh win in a row.

Leading 61-20 at the end of the half Higbee pumped it’s brakes and only outscored the Mustangs 21-18 in the second half.

“We set a high tempo for the first half and that set the tone for the game,”said Higbee head coach Tanner Burton. “We continue to work on adjustments as we continue to improve.”

Sophomore Jordan Fuemmeler led the Tigers with 29 points on the night while senior Jamie Smith and sophomore Derek Rockett each put in 17. Smith missed a double-double by one rebound as he pulled down nine.

Sophomore Will Spilman added eight points on the night.
