Opponents of the Higbee boys basketball team have to wonder where the off switch is when facing the Tigers. This time it was the Norborne Pirates facing the scoring machine out of Higbee as they fell 78-31.
Higbee took it’s record to 8-0 while Norborne fell to 2-5.
Proving it was no one-trick pony, Higbee’s defense held Norborne scoreless for an 11:32 stretch that began in the first quarter and ran until there was 6:26 left in the third quarter. During that time, the Tigers went on a 35-0 run.
Sophomore Jordan Fuemmeler garnered his second career triple-double by scoring 29 points, pulling down 10 rebounds, and grabbing 10 steals. In addition, he dished out five assists.
Fellow sophomore Derek Rockett knocked down 25 points on the night and pulled down seven rebounds.
Senior Malai Squires added six points while classmate Jamie Smith put up five. Another senior, Luke Ritter, scored four.
Sophomores Jaxon Hudson and Will Spilman each added three and freshman Landon Tuggle contributed two. Junior Chevy Grimsley rounded out the scoring with one.
