A slow start hurt Higbee in a 72-44 loss to Wellsville-Middletown on Tuesday. Higbee won the second quarter 16-15, but the Tigers were outscored 25-7 over the opening eight minutes.
William Gibson had 18 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in the loss. Keetun Redifer was 6-11 from the floor for 14 points. Chad Crawford and Seth Kirby each had four points.
Wellsville-Middletown 56, Higbee 31Macey Whisenand led Higbee with 14 points and three steals before fouling out, but the Tigers couldn’t keep up with Wellsville-Middletown on Tuesday in a 56-31 loss.
Higbee trailed 22-6 after one quarter, but outscored Wellsville-Middletown 12-10 over the next eight minutes. Whisenand, Devin Clark and Victoria Gibson did all of Higbee’s scoring for the game.
Clark had 13 points and nine rebounds before leaving with her fifth foul.
Gibson scored four points and also had nine rebounds.
