On Thursday, the ladies of the Howard County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented a certificate of appreciation along with a medal to Fayette Advertiser Editor and Publisher Justin Addison. The certificate was presented in thanks for publishing the group’s various activities in the newspaper, such as the Memorial Day and Veterans Day programs, throughout the years.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a lineage-based membership service organization for women who are directly descended from a patriot of the American Revolutionary War. It was founded in 1890 to promote Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism across the United States. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a birth certificate indicating their gender is female. DAR has more than 190,000 current members.
