Happy New Year from the Howard County Public Library! We hope your year has gotten off to a great start! Here at the library we are welcoming 2023 with plans for fun and exciting activities. Of course, we are continuing our regular weekly programs. If you like to chat about the books you’ve read in a very informal setting, come and join our “Readers” group on the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This is just a casual, fun get-together for adults only where we share our thoughts on books of all kinds. If you have a toddler, come to the library on Thursdays at 10 a.m. for Toddler Story Time. This is a chance for our little patrons to listen to stories and have fun with games, puzzles and crafts. Fridays are when we have our Story Time for our older children who also participate in games and crafts. The first Friday of every month is Block Day! We have a large assortment of blocks which we make available in our new children’s center on our lower level to build things and use their creativity! If you haven’t visited our new children’s area and our Mother’s Reading Room, you should definitely stop in and take a look around! We have craft activities planned for the spring holidays, so check out our website for upcoming events!
A new year means the arrival of new books, so come in and check out our “New Books” display in the front of the library! Of course we have plenty of other books too, if you are looking for a favorite author or classic novel!
Lots of things are happening here and while summer seems far away, we already have ideas for our Summer Reading Program in the works, so stay tuned! May you have a wonderful start to 2023! Hope to see you soon!
