Irene Crowley passed away at The Lodge in Fayette, January 18, 2021. She was 95 years of age.

Irene Elizabeth Crowley was born November 24, 1925, in Howard County, Missouri to Henry and Clara (Coy) Sulltrop. She attended grade school in Glasgow and later in life received her GED. In the mid 1950’s she moved to St. Louis, where she worked as a telephone operator for the city of St. Louis. Irene often volunteered for different civic events and she was a member of the Baptist Church. She always enjoyed time visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Irene is survived by three daughters, Billie (Raymond) Kirby of Fayette, Linda (Rich) Timmes of Chandler, Arizona, and Debbie Crowley of St. Louis; one son, John Crowley of St. Louis; daughter-in-law Sharon Crowley of Imperial, Missouri; six grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lou Crowley; a son, Ronald Crowley; four sisters, Dorothy McClammer, Henrietta Harper, Bernice Bockting. and Mary Jane Sulltrop; and two brothers, James and Leroy Sulltrop.

A memorial service honoring Mrs. Crowley’s life will be at 2 p.m. April 24, 2021, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m.
