Janet Sue Noland, 84, of rural Fayette, passed away on May 23, 2025, at her home of 58 years.
Janet was born near Glasgow, Mo., on July 27, 1940, a daughter of Robert Lee and Hazel Ruth Huff Farmer. She married Irvin Lee Noland on September 1, 1962, and they had enjoyed nearly 63 years of life together. Prior to retirement, Janet was employed with Howard County at the courthouse, the Fayette Public Schools, and the University of Missouri. In her younger days, she liked riding horses. She enjoyed crocheting, taking pictures at family events, and liked traveling with Irvin to visit family. She loved her children and grandchildren and was a source of encouragement and testimony to them. According to Irvin, her culinary talents evolved, and he and the kids were especially appreciative of her biscuits and gravy and meatloaf. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was loved by her friends there.
Those cherishing her memory include husband, Irvin Noland of Fayette; sons Jim and wife, Louise (Johnson) of Rocheport and Larry Noland of Springfield; grandchildren, Cory and Shelley Noland, Matt and Annah Noland, and Andrena Noland all of Callahan, Fla; great-grandchildren, Walker, Chase, Everett, Miles, and Elias Noland; sister, Guyrene Burks and husband, John of Harrisburg; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susan Lee Noland; daughter-in-law, Pam Noland; and great-grandchildren, Rylan and Haven Noland.
Services honoring Janet’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin, Mo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin.
