Jean Montgomery passed away on October 13, 2020, at Glasgow Gardens, where she had been a resident for eleven years. She was 87 years of age.
Thelma Jean Montgomery was born November 4, 1932, in Jefferson City, Mo. to John and Brooxie (Rippeto) Stiers. She graduated from St. Peter & Paul School in Jefferson City. Jean married Gaylord Montgomery on September 12, 1951. The couple enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Gaylord preceded her in death on April 4, 1995. Jean was a hardworking and loving homemaker. She enjoyed being outside and taking care of the animals, especially the horses. When she was able, Jean loved to travel.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Karen (Gary) Conrow of Fayette; two grandchildren, Candice and John; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Lindsay, Ke’sean, and Arianna; four great-great-grandchildren, Cali, Caleb, Cadence, and Demetria; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service honoring Jean’s life at 10 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2020, at the Walnut Ridge Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Jackman officiating. Memorials are suggested to Glasgow Gardens or Hometown Home Care in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy 5 & 240 N, Fayette, MO 65248.
