Former Fayette resident, Phyllis Cross passed away August 4, 2020 at her home in Jefferson City, Mo. She was 77 years of age.
Phyllis J. Cross was born July 4, 1943 in Howard County, Mo. to Albert B. and Bernadine (Gerke) Felten. She graduated from Fayette High School in 1962. After high school she worked at the Garment Factory in Fayette. She later was a Dietary Aid at the Fayette Caring Center for a number of years before moving to Jefferson City.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Dennis) Drew of Clifton Hill, Mo., and Brenda Cross of Jefferson City; one son, William “Bill” (Cheryl) Cross of Moberly, Mo.; five grandchildren, William and Gabrielle Cross, Dillon, Mitchell and Dustin Drew; and one sister, Linda Paul of St. Clair, Mo. Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by a son, Brad Cross, one brother, Robert Felten, and one sister, Viola Long.
A graveside memorial service honoring Mrs. Cross will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the Fayette City Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Page officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Fayette City Cemetery in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy 5 & 240 N, Fayette, MO 65248.
