Fayette, Missouri resident, Jimmy Shiflett, 82, passed away at the Fayette Caring Center on August 22, 2021.

James Alfred Shiflett was born April 4, 1939, in Armstrong, Missouri, a son to the late James F. and Mary Edith (Brooks) Shiflett. He graduated from Armstrong High School with the class of 1957. Jimmy married Patsy Cole and together they had five boys. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2007. Jimmy had a strong work ethic. For many years, he worked as a millwright in the agriculture industry, maintaining grain and feed operations. He also farmed and raised cattle. When he was able, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and dancing. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

 Survivors include four sons, Dean (Wanda) Shiflett of Armstrong, Missouri; Scotty (Pam) Shiflett of Fayette, Missouri; Mike (Missy) Shiflett of Fayette, Missouri; and Billy (Donna) Shiflett of New Franklin, Missouri; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Sandra Doyle of Boonville, Missouri. In addition to his parents and wife, Jimmy was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Shiflett, and a brother-in-law, Larry Doyle.

 Visitation for Mr. Shiflett will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, Missouri. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the funeral home, with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Inurnment will be held privately at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Missouri.
