She tested positive for the Coronavirus on September 9, 2020. In addition to the Virus she suffered from several other medical problems.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Ben Basye, of the home in Columbia. Their 66th wedding anniversary would have been on December 12th. Her surviving sons are George Basye (Cindy) of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Fayette; Randy Basye (Debra) of St. Charles and Rocheport; and Chuck Basye (Rhonda) of Rocheport. She is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Scott Kennedy Basye who died in May 2020; by parents Harry and Ethel Brown of Fayette; and by her sister Helen Lanham.
