John Allen Sevier, Jr., age 95, of New Franklin, passed away May 9, 2022 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics.
John was born in Sedalia, Missouri on December 30, 1926, the first child of John Allen Sevier, Sr. and Stella Elizabeth Simmons Sevier.
John served his nation in World War II in the U.S Army from March 31, 1944 until his honorable discharge on May 9, 1946.
Prior to retirement, John was employed as a commercial carpenter and had owned Art Collectibles stores in the Ventura, California area which specialized in picture framing and as a gallery. He enjoyed traveling to see friends and relatives and taking walks in his neighborhood. He had formerly resided in Seneca, Missouri; Alma, Arkansas; Las Vegas, Nevada and Ventura, California.
John is survived by his daughter, Penelope Sevier of Hollywood, California and by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Jeff Sevier, Doug Sevier and Bruce Sevier; two daughters, Julie Moline and LoriAnne Tryon; by a brother, Jim Sevier and three sisters, Mary Dow, Jean Reynolds and Ruby Armstrong.
Graveside services with military honors will held at 1 p.m,. on Friday May 13, 2022 at Knob Noster Cemetery, 1122-1124 NE 75, Knob Noster, Missouri.
Arrangements entrusted to Markland-Yager Funeral Home, New Franklin, Missouri.
