Julie Lynn Butner “Cotton Top”, 62, of Armstrong, MO, formerly of Marshall, died Monday, May 24, 2021 at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with Pastor Jason Gentry officiating. Private family burial will be in Moberly. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hallsville Baptist Church and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com
Born February 24, 1959 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late John Oliver Seward and Rosalee Flanagan Ravenscraft of Hallsville. Julie lived in Marshall, Columbia, and has been in Armstrong the last five years. On July 7, 1987 she married Kent Butner who survives of the home. She was a developmental assistant at Marshall Habilitation Center for 15 years and was also a certified nurse’s aide in hospitals and providing in home care.
She is survived by her husband, Kent; her mother, Rosalee Ravenscraft (Ralph) of Hallsville; her step-mother, Phyllis Seward of Kirksville; one daughter, Amber Ames of Armstrong; two grandchildren, Dillon Ames (Heather) and Dalton Ames; one sister, Lisa Guese (Stephen) of Armstrong; five step-sons: Johnathan Grimes, Jason Hayes, Kenneth Robinson, Keith Robinson and Jeff Jones; a niece, Lindsey Triebsch of Fayette; a nephew, Michael Triebsch of Columbia; a great-niece, Andalyn Finley of Fayette; as well as other nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her father, John; she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hunter Lynn Ames.
