July 4 cornhole tourney to benefit Santa Fe Trail Days

Posted

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail, and the annual Santa Fe Trail Days in New Franklin is preparing for a major celebration in September.

The organization behind the event is seeking vendors for this year’s affair, which runs September 17 and 16 in downtown New Franklin.

For a 10-foot-square space, the costs are $30 for a non-food vendor without electricity, $40 for non-food vendors with electrical access, or $60 for food vendors.

The event is also seeking sponsors, which range from donations under $50, through diamond level for which a minimum donation is $750.

Interested vendors and sponsors should contact the committee through its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/SantaFeTrailDays.

A July 4 cornhole tournament will act as a fundraiser for the event. Games start at 11 a.m. at the New Franklin City Park.

The cost will be $40 for teams of two. Teams can preregister by July 3 at Exchange Bank of New Franklin at a discounted rate of $35.

All boards and bags for the double-elimination tournament will be provided. Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams. Music, food, and drinks will be provided.
