Her door was always open to anyone, especially children, needing help and love. Kathleen was an avid sports mom. She loved watching NASCAR, and her favorite singer was George Strait. She also served others as a member of the Versailles Lions Club.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Michelle Blake and husband, Oscar; sons, Dennis Scherer and wife, Crystal and Shawn Scherer and wife, Tina; grandchildren, Sydney, Madison, Zachary, Dennis Michael and wife, Adirany and Tyler Scherer and Kristina, Melissa Volmert (Dylan) and Patricia Blake; great-grandchildren, Karoline Simms and Dean Scherer; niece, Angela McManus; nephew, William “Billy” McManus and wife, Melissa and great-nieces, Eliscia and Lexie Ganem and Jessica and Sophia McManus and her constant canine companion, Bella.
