Now that fall is here and colder weather is approaching, many of us like to stay in where it is warm and curl up with a good book. If you like to read and you like to talk about books and share your thoughts and opinions about books, then we have just the right opportunity for you! We are going to start a new group and call ourselves simply,” Readers.”

We like to read, too, and would love to talk books with you! The library is starting an adults only informal book club. We will meet on the 1st Thursday of each month, beginning November 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. We plan to share our opinions and thoughts about any book we may have read and hopefully get suggestions on books to read which we haven’t read yet. We plan to be very informal and our only requirement is that you be an adult who likes to read. We thought we would begin by just gathering here at the library and talking about whatever books we have read and also about the books we want to read. If enough of us are interested, we might even choose a book for all of us to read, but we wouldn’t want anyone to think they had to read a certain book. You would always be welcome to attend whether you had read the book or not. Our purpose would be to meet, to talk, to share and to have fun. If we leave the gathering with a new book or suggestions on what to read, that would be even better!

Also new this month for our youngest patrons is Craft Day Friday. Along with our usual Friday Story Hour, which is from 11 until noon, we have been doing a craft that is centered around fall and fall holiday themes. There are still two Fridays left in the month, so come and join us for some fun activities!

If you would like more information, just gives us a call at the Howard County Public Library at 248-3488.

We hope to see you “Readers” November 4th at 6 o’clock and our youngsters on Fridays at 11!
