The holidays are rapidly approaching and most people are very busy this time of year with shopping, baking and re-uniting with friends and family, especially this year as we are emerging from the pandemic. However, we hope no one is ever too busy to take some time and read a good book!
Reading can be a great way to take some time out for yourself, relax and escape to other worlds! If you are one of those who like to share what you have read, remember that we now have an informal, adults only, book club called “Readers.” We had our first successful meeting on Thursday, November 4th. A lively discussion took place as eight of us talked about books we had read recently and offered our opinions and recommendations regarding those books. Our next meeting will be Thursday, December 3, and we would love to have you join us!
If you are too busy to attend “Readers” due to all of your holiday preparations, you might find one of our many holiday cook books or craft books handy. We have a wide array of selections available to help you get ready for all the big days ahead!
For our young patrons, our Story Hour continues each Friday at 11 a.m. and we are hoping to add an additional Story Hour Day just for toddlers and preschoolers. Both sessions will include some crafts, some games, and as always, great stories! Whether you come in for Story Hour, “Readers” book club, to check out a book, or just to enjoy a relaxing moment out of your busy schedule, we are always delighted to see you. Happy November!
