Happy February from the Howard County Public Library! February is in full swing and we are having a busy month here! Friday, February 3, was Block Day, as is the first Friday of every month, and we had quite a large group participate! It is always fun to witness the creativity of our young patrons as they create buildings of all sorts with the blocks!
Valentine’s Day will have come and gone when you read this, but we had all kinds of activities to celebrate! On Thursday and Friday, February 9, and 10, we offered take-and-make craft activities to all of our patrons, especially those who attend the Toddler Time on Thursday and the Story Time on Friday. The kit included fun Valentine projects. On Tuesday,Valentine’s Day, we had supplies available all day in our craft and activity center for anyone wishing to make Valentines!
Currently, we have a display of posters celebrating Black History Month which were given to us by Fayette Together and we also have books by many prominent Black authors on display.
Super Bowl LVII is history now, but we had several football books available for our football fan patrons.
Our regular programs-Thursday Toddler Time, Friday Story Time and Thursday night “Readers” have continued as usual.
As you can see, we are having a fun-filled month! Of course, as always, we have all the newest books and best sellers available for check-out. We hope you will stop in, look around, and see what is happening! Stay tuned to see what we will be doing in the upcoming months!
