November Greetings from the Howard County Public Library! When we think about giving thanks during this time of year, we are definitely thankful for all that our library has to offer! We are having a wonderful autumn here and we hope all our patrons are, too! Our Halloween events were both a big successes as we had lots of little patrons show up on both Thursday Toddler-Time, and Friday Story-Time! They were dressed in costumes and enjoyed doing crafts, listening to stories, and having their pictures taken in the specially-created photo area. Everyone received a book and a Halloween treat as they departed.
Now we are planning a Thanksgiving event for both children’s days and will once again have crafts and stories! The Toddler-Time will be on Thursday, November 17, at 10 a.m., and the special Story-Time Day will be on Friday, November 17, at 11a.m. We hope you can join us! All ages seem to really enjoy visiting our craft and activity center!
We have plenty for our adult patrons, too, as new books arrive all the time! “Readers,” our adult book group, marked a one-year anniversary in November and we are thrilled with the participation we have had. Any adult who likes to read and talk about books is welcome to join us. We meet on the first Thursday of each month. Our winter hours will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Everyone is busy this time of year, but if you are looking for holiday crafts, cooking, or entertaining ideas, we can help you out. Maybe you just want a good book for a cold winter’s night! We can definitely find something for you in that category! So stop in the library to see what’s new or new to you! Have a great November, and Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for our patrons, during this time and all year long!
