Boonville, MO resident, Bobbi Whistler, 74, passed away peacefully at Ashley Manor Care Center on October 27, 2021.
Linda Roberta Whistler was born January 10, 1947 in Cherry Creek, SD, a daughter to the late Frank Koenig and Ramona Bear Looks Running. Bobbi graduated from St. Pius High School in Festus, MO and held her Catholic faith throughout her life. Bobbi appreciated and was very proud of her Native American ancestry. She worked as a bartender for numerous years in the Saint Louis, MO area. Following a tragic accident that rendered her disabled, Bobbi became a resident at Ashley Manor in Boonville for approximately 15 years. She truly appreciated the care she received and enjoyed time spent with staff members and residents.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jacinta Whistler (Mark Pope) of Fayette, MO and Ashley (Michael) Besserman of Caseyville, IL; four grandchildren, Alexandria (Dalten) Stegner of Pilot Grove, Blake Innes of Fayette, Alex and Brianna Besserman of Caseyville, IL; two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Bentley Stegner; brother, Bill Koenig of Boston, MA; foster parents, Marge and Royce Wilhauk of Florida; and five foster sisters, Peggi, Susie, Patti, JudI and Janet. She is also survived by her special friend Patricia Duvall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vern Koenig.
A memorial service honoring Ms. Whistler will be 1 PM, Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Fr. Joshua Duncan officiating. Inurnment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
