Linda was born on February 23, 1941 in Marceline, MO a daughter of Paul and Judith Siemens Baker.  On December 14, 1967 Linda married Robert W. Korte at the family home in Steimetz, MO with Judge Vera Funk performing the honors.  Linda and Bob enjoyed 54 years of marriage.

Linda was a dedicated Registered Nurse and practiced her profession at Keller Memorial Hospital for eight years as a labor and delivery nurse and later for fifteen years at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in the medical surgery unit and the kidney transplant unit.  She loved her profession and prioritized patient care.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fayette and was a former member of the Armstrong Baptist Church where she enjoyed taking part in the Christmas Cantatas and serving as choir leader.  Linda had also shared her musical talent with families at both weddings and funerals.  Her favorite scriptures included John 3:16 and Psalms 23.

Linda loved cooking and was a gracious hostess at her home – never meeting a stranger.  She was also a member of the Literary Club of Armstrong, the MMM Club of Fayette and volunteered at the Fayette Senior Center.

Survivors include her husband, Robert W. Korte of Fayette; a son, Robert Matthew Korte and his wife, Laura of Fayette; a grandson, Alex Clinton Korte and a sister, Betty Hainds of Marceline.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arlin Baker and recently by an aunt, Mary Haun Sayler.

Services honoring Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 23 at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with David Teter officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
