Nichole and Ryan Atkins celebrated one year in business on Saturday, October 15, with a ribbon cutting at Fireside Bakes and Brews. Last year, the popular coffee shop expanded from a mobile coffee trailer to its brick-and-mortar location at 203 North Church Street, a half-block off the Fayette square.
Since opening last year on October 20, Fireside has been a morning staple for most of Fayette. And its proximity to the Central Methodist University campus keeps students awake for those morning classes.
“The support we received was overwhelmingly unexpected,” said Nichole of the first year. “We’re just so blessed to be a part of the community. It’s been a dream come true.”
Fireside still has the mobile trailer and gets it out for area events. Nichole said she plans on taking it out more often next summer.
