Fayette resident, Lorene Jennings, 89, passed away at Aspire Senior Living in Fayette, MO on November 17, 2021.

Lorene was born in Watts, OK on November 15, 1932, a daughter to Orey Virgil and Lottie (Patton) Farmer.  She graduated from New Franklin High School with the class of 1953.  On June 7, 1953, Lorene married Earl Richard Jennings in New Franklin.  Together, they enjoyed over 61 years of marriage until RIchards’s passing on February 13, 2015.  Lorene worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for a number of years.  She also worked as a deputy collector for the Howard County Collector for over 20 years, retiring in 2003.  Lorene enjoyed family vacations to national parks, cooking, listening to Elvis and Big Band music, sketching, coloring, doing word search puzzles, playing bingo, bird watching and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (John) Forderhase of Fayette; two grandchildren, James Cunningham of Columbia, and Tommy Cunningham of Houston, TX; and one sister, Bonnie Hackley of Fayette.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Glynnis Connley.

Visitation is 4:30-6 PM, Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette.  A funeral honoring the life of Mrs. Jennings will be 10 AM, Monday, November 22, 2021 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Pastor Jamie Page officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Howard County Public Library or the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy. 5 & 240 N., Fayette, MO 65248.
