Those of us who overeat on Thanksgiving will have a chance to burn off those extra calories. Fayette Main Street will host a Turkey Trot 5k downtown Fayette on the morning of Saturday, November 27. All ages are welcome to run, jog, walk, or wobble their way through the five-kilometer course that begins in front of Mackenzie Wells Fitness on the south side of the square.
The cost to enter is $20 for adults aged 18 and over, and $10 for children aged 17 and under if entries are made prior to 11:50 p.m. on November 26. The cost increases by $5 for those who register on the day of the event.
Payments should be made via Venmo @FayetteMainStreet-Inc.
All of the profits from the event will benefit the beautification of downtown Fayette in the form of benches, planter boxes, and trash cans.
Participants should arrive at Mackenzie Wells Fitness by 8:30 a.m. to complete their registrations. The race kicks off at 9 a.m.
Gift cards to local businesses will be awarded as prizes to first-place men and women finishers of any age. In addition, there will be three random drawings.
Those planning to take part in the Turkey Trot are encouraged to find the event on Facebook and click “going.”
