Martha Strodtman, 84, passed away peacefully at the Lodge in Fayette, MO on January 22, 2021.
Martha Ann Strodtman was born June 20, 1936 in Glasgow, Howard County, MO, a daughter to Clarence and Genevieve (Flaspohler) Yung. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1954. On December 28, 1955, Martha married Ralph Glenn Strodtman at St. Mary Church in Glasgow. Together they enjoyed over 52 years of marriage. Ralph preceded her in death on June 6, 2008. Early in Martha’s career, she held jobs at the local drug store and fabric shop in downtown Glasgow. However, Martha was primarily a homemaker, nourishing, raising and providing for her family. She loved gardening and canning her produce, and raising chickens on the family farm. Martha was a tremendous cook and always provided a hearty meal for her family and visitors. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Martha will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her four sons, Jimmie (Christy) Strodtman of Glasgow, MO, Jeff (Lori) Strodtman of Fayette, MO, Ronald (Leasa) Strodtman of Glasgow, MO and Kevin (Angie) Strodtman of Fayette, MO; 10 grandchildren, Sherry Bean, Josh Strodtman, Carrie Strodtman, Angie Stolte, Bridget Fuemmeler, Jacob Strodtman, Cortney Pettit, Joe Strodtman, Samantha Strodtman and Haleigh Strodtman; 19 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Eugene (Linda) Yung of Boonville, MO, Bob (Shirley) Yung of Gilliam, MO and Charlie (Marsha) Yung of Glasgow, MO. In addition to her husband and parents, Martha Ann was preceded in death by her grandson Scottie Strodtman; granddaughter, Kasie Strodtman; three brothers, John Ray, Buddy and Clarence Yung; sister, Genevieve Garrison and an infant sister Mary Jo Yung.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Martha Ann will be held privately at the family's convenience on January 26, 2021 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Harold Young and Fr. Joshua Duncan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Washington Cemetery in Glasgow.
