Central Methodist women's basketball freshman guard Leianya Massenat was tabbed as NAIA Women's Basketball Honorable Mention All-American honoree, as announced by the national office Thursday afternoon.
All of the selections are made by the All-America Committee and comprises a First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-America teams.
Massenat, a 5-9 guard from Trenton, N.J. put up impressive numbers in her first year as an Eagle. She shot 38.1-percent from the field averaging 19.7 points per game at the end of the regular season, putting her in the Top-20 in the NAIA.
Massenat was also ranked No. 13 in the NAIA and was the conference leader in steals per game (3.357). She recorded a career-high 29 points against Missouri Valley College on Nov. 18 and put up a double-double at Grand View on Jan. 23 with 26 points and 11 boards.
For her efforts in 2020-21, Massenat earned Heart First Team All-Conference honors and was named the Heart Freshman of the Year
