After a stellar week at the plate, CMU junior shortstop Robbie Merced was named the Heart Baseball Player of the Week by the conference office last Monday.
Merced had a monster weekend for the Eagles, as the Springfield, Missouri native hit seven home runs in 16 at bats with 20 RBI. He also recorded a grand slam in Central's third game against Graceland Tuesday afternoon.
He had four multi-hit games and drew seven walks. In addition, Merced posted a staggering 2.125 slugging percentage on the week, leading the Eagles to a perfect 6-0 record.
Merced leads the nation in home runs with 18 so far in the 2022 campaign.
Over the weekend, Merced went 2-for-9 with only one RBI. He was walked five times and scored four
