Kyle FinnJeremy GerlachTwo men apprehended in New Franklin on Monday under charges of resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia related to methamphetamine appeared in the Howard County Court Tuesday. Represented by a public defender, both waived formal arraignment and both requested bond reductions which were denied.

Kyle R. Finn, 25, resident at 278 County Road 320 in rural Howard County, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine (Class D felony), possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use (Class A misdemeanor), and resisting arrest (Class A misdemeanor). Finn is in the Howard County Jail under a $10,000 cash-only bond.

Jeremy W. Gerlach, 30, home address unknown, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine (Class D felony), possession of marijuana (Class A misdemeanor), possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use (Class A misdemeanor), and resisting arrest (Class D felony). Gerlach  is in the Howard County Jail under a $30,000 cash-only bond.

Finn’s case will stay within the associate circuit court presided over by Judge Mason Gebhardt. Finn is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 11.

Presumably because of his more serious crime of assault on a law enforcement officer, Gerlach’s case is bound over to the circuit court presided over by Judge Scott Hayes. Gerlach is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 5.
