Miknan’s owner named Rotary Business Leader of the Year

Posted

Leremie Shaffer, owner of Miknan’s Main Street Pub in Fayette, has been named the Fayette Rotary Club’s Business Leader of the Year.  Jamie Page, chair of the selection committee, presented the award to Shaffer during the club’s meeting on Wednesday, May 19 in the Central Methodist University Student Center.

The recognition program began in 1984. The names of past recipients are affixed on two permanent plaques which hang in the Commercial Trust Community Room. Any business or professional person residing within the bounds of the Fayette R-III school district is eligible to receive the award. Rotary members vote annually each spring to make the selection.

“Leremie is a natural teacher and mentor, which makes him such an excellent employer now and a job coach for [Endless Options] before,” said Rotarian Christina Heilman, one of the members who nominated Shaffer. “He isn’t just a boss, he is a mentor and a friend to his employees, making time to make the most of teachable moments with his young staff.”

Heilman, Chief Financial Officer for Endless Options, Inc., noted that Leremie employs many EO clients, making Miknan’s one of the few community sites with inclusive employment.

Shaffer came to work at Endless Options, Inc. in February 2012. At that time he worked in the early childhood program and residential program. He graduated from CMU that May and was hired as Director of Employment Services at Endless Options, Inc. in July of that same year. He continued at EO until 2018 when he and his wife, Elizabeth, purchased Miknan’s.

Shaffer and his family reside in Fayette.
