The charge for trash pickup will rise by one dollar next month for Fayette residents. The increase was included in the contract signed last year by the City of Fayette and RTS Waste Services, LLC.
During a special meeting held on May 18, 2021, the Fayette city council voted to accept a bid from RTS for weekly trash pickup. At that time, the cost to customers increased by $2.20 per month, from $11.30 to $13.50 for the first year, with yearly increases built into the contract.
The new monthly charge for trash pickup will be $14.50.
