Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

Posted

A Fayette man suffered serious injuries when he wrecked his motorcycle Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Larry Koenig, 57, was northbound on Highway 5, between Fayette and New Franklin, about half a mile south of County Road 423 shortly before 4 p.m. when his 2018 Indian Roadmaster motorcycle skidded and left the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle then returned to the road and overturned, ejecting Koenig.

He was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet.

The Indian motorcycle was totaled and had to be towed from the scene.
