With an 83-27 romp over 0-9 Tuscumbia, the New Franklin boys closed out the 2021 portion of the season with a 7-2 record.
“It was a good way to finish our the first semester,” said New Franklin head coach Ross Dobson. “We’ve played a lot of good competition and still have a lot of season left that I’m excited for.”
This game was never in question as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 38-4 lead to end the first quarter and stayed ahead by a score of 59-8 at the half. The third quarter was somewhat better for Tuscumbia as New Franklin scored only 17 to Tuscumbia’s 12. The fourth quarter was deadlocked at seven giving New Franklin the 83-27 victory.
New Franklin had five players in double figures as sophomore Connor Wilmsmeyer poured in 12 while sophomores Drake Clark and Owen Curry each dropped in 11. Juniors Clayton Wilmsmeyer and Matthew Overall each added 10.
New Franklin will next host the New Franklin tournament, beginning January 3.
