New Franklin will debut a new disc golf course at a grand opening at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The course is located at the New Franklin City Park. The grand opening will take place at the main shelter house.
Lunch will be provided, sponsored by Boonville Subway owned by Jeff Ouffut.
Newcomers are encouraged to give the burgeoning sport a try. Experienced players will be on hand to teach basic skills such as throwing different types of discs. The raffle of a three-disc golf starter will with a backpack will cost $5 per ticket.
Disc golfers should download the UDisc app and search for the new course to get started keeping score.
