The New Franklin Lady Bulldogs fell 48-36 loss at the hands of top-seeded Salisbury Wednesday on the road. The loss ends New Franklin’s season with a record of 10-15.
Falling behind 17-7 at the end of the first quarter left New Franklin with a deficit too large to overcome as Salisbury only outscored the Lady Bulldogs 31-29 in the final three periods.
Junior Abby Maupin led New Franklin with 11 points on the night followed closely by sophomore Carly Dorson with 10. In their last game as Lady Bulldogs, seniorS Madelyn Chaney added seven while Kristen Flick had three. Sophomore Addy Salmon also contributed three. Sophomore Kelsi Fair finished out the New Franklin scoring with two.
“It was a tough loss and it’s always hard to end any season,” said New Franklin coach Morgan Vetter. “I appreciate all the hard work the seniors have put in over the past couple of years.”
Salisbury will host the Harrisburg Lady Bulldogs in the Class 2, District 7 final Friday evening at 6 p.m.
