They are Phyllis Linhart, secretary; Bill Shay, president; Ray Exner, vice president; Eva Ridenour, treasurer; Lola O’Brian; Darlene Stice, assistant treasurer; Debbie Miller; Kitty Overstreet. Plans were made for a breakfast fundraiser to take place Sunday, July 27. A free spaghetti dinner and bingo for seniors over 60 is scheduled for Aug. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.

A non-profit organization, the Fayette Senior Center is made possible through the financial support of local citizens, community groups and the Central Missouri Agency on Aging. The Center’s mission is to enhance the lives of Howard County senior citizens through information, referrals to other services, meals at the Center, meals delivered to home-bound seniors, recreation and socialization at the Center such as painting, quilting, bingo, and other services that help seniors maintain their independence.

Noon meals are served buffet style, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A suggested donation of $3.50 for seniors is appreciated but not required. No one 60 years old or older is denied a meal due to inability to pay. Cost for the meal for those 60 years and younger is $6.50.

Those needing transportation, medical assistance, respite care, or other specific needs, please call the Center at 248-3733 or Howard County Care Coordinator Karen Dick at 660-882-3444.
