• FACT (FAYETTE AREA COMMUNITY THEATRE) announces “Hairspray” as its summer musical. There are many male and female parts for youth and adults, age 12 and up. Auditions are May 3 & 4 at FHS in Bridget Hussey’s room from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Also May 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at First Christian Church. Bring a short solo with your own CD accompaniment. Or, be prepared to sing a familiar song or hymn with a FACT accompanist. Video submissions accepted until 12 p.m. Friday May 5, and can be emailed to fayetteact@gmail.com. • The Howard County Democrat Women will meet at Schnell Hall, at noon, on Monday, May 7, for a carry-in lunch and meeting. Vicki Gassman will be the speaker. All Democrats are invited to attend.

• SOUTH HOWARD COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM in New Franklin is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. All are welcome.

• THE OUTREACH LIBRARIAN will be at the Armstrong Community Center on the first Wednesday of every month from 2-5 p.m., and in New Franklin at the Senior Housing Community Center on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
