Paul Thomas Crews (PT/Tom), passed peacefully at his home in Enumclaw on the morning of November 1, 2021, at age 84.

He was born in Fayette, Missouri on June 28, 1937, to James and Marie Crews.  He graduated from Fayette High School in 1955 and attended Central Methodist University.  After leaving Central Methodist, he joined the Navy which is where he discovered his love of flying.  He flew for Air America in Southeast Asia and met his first wife, Anne, while in Laos. They married upon their return to the States, settling in New Jersey and having 4 children.  Tom began his commercial pilot career with Pan American Airlines and was soon transferred to the Seattle base where he settled with his family in Enumclaw.  He married his second wife, Brenda Houston in 1994, with whom he had 2 additional children.  Tom continued to fly with Pan Am until the company dissolved in 1991.  He then flew for various other airlines until his retirement at age 60.  After retiring, Tom became a stay at home dad to his 2 youngest children.  He became very involved in scouting and was Troop 422’s Scout Master.  Tom’s true love was flying but he also loved cooking, spending time with family, keeping up with current affairs and was an avid Seattle sports fan. Tom had a big heart, generously supporting numerous charities as well as family and friends.

Tom leaves behind his children:  Samantha Crews (Jim), Rebecca McGregor (Matt), Anne McCown (Dustin), Rachel Moore (Chuck), and Paul Thomas Crews, Jr.; his grandchildren:  James, Colby, Kylie, Grace, Emma, Henry; and his nieces and nephews: Ron (Velma), Dana (Gus), Brian (Peggy), and Laurie (Tim). He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda, his daughter Beth, and his sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Dude McMillan.

A service was held at Wabash Church on November 13, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Men’s Club at Enumclaw Golf Course.

Donations may be made to Scout Troop 422 or your local food bank.  Please share a memory on the tribute wall.
